Having a working microphone is essential for interacting with Portalis Avatars. Please follow the instructions below based on your device and browser. After enabling the microphone, remember to refresh the page to apply the changes.
Step 1: Check Your Browser Settings
Google Chrome (Windows/Mac)
Click the lock icon or "Not secure" text in the address bar.
Click "Site settings."
Find "Microphone" and select "Allow."
Mozilla Firefox (Windows/Mac)
Click the lock icon in the address bar.
Click the right arrow under “Site Information.”
Click “More Information.”
Click “Permissions.”
Find "Use the Microphone" and select "Allow."
Safari (Mac)
Click “Safari > Preferences.”
Go to the "Websites" tab.
Select "Microphone" from the left sidebar.
Find your website and choose "Allow."
Microsoft Edge (Windows)
Click the lock icon in the address bar.
Click "Permissions for This Site."
Toggle "Microphone" to "Allow."
Opera (Windows/Mac)
Click the lock icon in the address bar.
Click “Site Settings.”
Find "Microphone" and select "Allow."
Brave (Windows/Mac)
Open Brave browser.
At the top right, click “Menu” and then “Settings.”
At the bottom, click “Advanced.”
Under “Privacy and security,” click “Site settings.”
Click the permission you want to update.
Vivaldi (Windows/Mac)
Select “Start.”
Select “Settings.”
Select “Privacy.”
Select “Microphone.”
Select “Change” under “Allow access to the microphone on this device.”
Make sure “Microphone access” for this device is turned on.
Select “Allow apps to access your microphone” in Microphone settings.
Make sure “Allow apps to access your microphone” is turned on.
Chrome (Android)
Tap the lock icon in the address bar.
Tap "Site settings."
Find "Microphone" and tap "Allow."
Safari (iOS)
Go to “Settings” > “Safari” > “Camera & Microphone Access.”
Toggle on "Allow Sites to Request Access."
Revisit the website and tap "Allow" when prompted.
Firefox (Android)
Tap the lock icon in the address bar.
Tap "Edit Site Settings."
Find "Microphone" and select "Allow."
Firefox (iOS)
Go to “Settings” > “Firefox” > “Microphone.”
Toggle on "Firefox."
Revisit the website and tap "Allow" when prompted.
Samsung Internet (Android)
Tap the three-dot menu.
Tap “Settings.”
Tap “Sites and downloads.”
Tap “Site Permissions.”
Tap "Microphone."
Toggle the button next to the appropriate site.
Vivaldi (Android)
Go to the Vivaldi menu.
Select “Settings.”
Select “Web pages.”
Select “Site Settings.”
Tap on the permission in the list.
If a website has requested permission, it will be listed on the permission's page.
Tap on the domain name to adjust your choice.
Step 2: Check Your Device Settings
Select "Start."
Select "Settings."
Select "Privacy."
Select "Microphone."
In "Allow access to the microphone on this device," select "Change."
Make sure "Microphone access for this device" is turned on.
Allow apps access to your microphone.
Open the Apple menu.
Select “System Settings.”
Click “Privacy & Security” in the sidebar.
Click “Microphone” on the right.
Turn access to the microphone on or off for each app in the list.
Open the “Settings” app.
Tap “Security & privacy,” or just “Privacy” on some devices.
Select “Privacy” > “Permission manager.” On some phones, tap “App permissions” instead.
Tap “Microphone.”
Choose an app from the list and then select “Allow only while using the app.”
